BOBBY DARIN MEMORIAL CONCERT TO BENEFIT CHILDREN'S HEART FOUNDATION

Join Children's Heart Foundation for an afternoon of "Music from the Heart"

On Sunday May 4, The Darin Lifetime Group will host an afternoon concert at the Alexis Park Resort benefiting the Children's Heart Foundation, a Nevada-based non-profit that lends support to children and families who suffer or are affected by heart problems.

Bobby Darin's memorial organization hosts the event each year consisting of family, friends, and fans gathering to celebrate and remember the former musician's career and life. Attending this year's event will be Bobby Darin Musicians Billy McCubbin, Terry Kellman and others to Share in Darin's music and memories. The event will begin at 2:00 pm at the Alexis Park Resort located at 375 East Harmon. Individual ticket prices are $15.00 or two for $25.00. Call the Children's heart Foundation at (702) 967-3522 to reserve your tickets today.

Last year, on behalf of The Darin Lifetime Group, Darin's son, Dodd Darin, presented Children's Heart Foundation with a $1,000 donation. Bobby Darin suffered over his lifetime with an eventually fatal heart condition. Because of the damage rheumatic fever did to his heart as a child, Bobby Darin had a special interest in children with heart problems, and in his memory, his family has been committed to the advancement of a treatment to alleviate this serious disease, and donates a gift in his name each year to the Children's Heart Foundation.

CAMP MEND-A-HEART

Sunday, June 22 to Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Camp Mend-a-Heart is a cost-free, medically supervised camp for children who are born with or develop heart problems. Children's Heart Foundation established the camp in an effort to provide children with an opportunity to participate in a variety of fun camp activities.

Camp Mend-a-Heart is a place where children with heart conditions are able to forge friendships, attain hope, and create great memories with one another. Camp Mend-a-Heart is the only medically supervised camp in Nevada offered to children with heart conditions.

Camp Mend-a-Heart is a truly wonderful experience! The children are able to shift their focus from their heart conditions to the richness of life that can be experienced even by those with cardiac problems. They spend time with others who understand what it's like to have a heart condition. One child commented, "It's cool that everyone else has to take meds, too." Many of the boys at camp were shedding their shirts to participate in water-play, for once unconcerned about any visible scars or medical devices. One group even dubbed themselves the "D-team" because they each had a defibrillator under their skin.
